Work on access to safe water in Africa and Asia
In the Africa and Asia water-well work carried out together with the International Water Well Aid Association, we address well drilling, pump and storage solutions, and the strengthening of local operating capacity.
In regions where access to safe water is limited, a well is not merely a technical structure; it is infrastructure that directly affects health, education and livelihoods. For that reason, in international work it is not only drilling the well but keeping it operable afterwards that forms part of the project.
Site conditions differ substantially from Türkiye: in settlements without grid electricity, solar-powered pumps and elevated storage solutions are used, while in regions where access to spare parts is limited, simple and repairable equipment is preferred.
Local capacity is at the center of our approach: our measure of success is whether the field team can take on the maintenance of the system that has been installed. Every project therefore includes usage training, simple maintenance instructions and a spare-parts plan.
